Fresh and Family Friendly

This charming home had great potential for a young couple with a growing family but it felt dated and dark.  Shades of tan and taupe give way to an uplifting palette of a spectrum of blues and white.  The new sectional provides plenty of comfortable, informal seating to gather for conversation or movie night.  New lighting provides both functional and ambient light sources as well as the beautiful sparkle of warm metallics.  A traditional fireplace (not shown) is replaced with a contemporary floor to ceiling treatment of limestone tile.

Great Room

Great Room

This room was taken from dismal to fresh and timeless. The design began with an application of off-white paint which served to lighten and brighten the space. Ceilings, from the front door to the great room, receive special treatment with blue paint in a shade that brought the sky inside, expanding the feeling of spaciousness. Furnishings and draperies in multiple shades of blue, from aqua to indigo, feel fresh and pretty. The sectional provides plenty of lounging space for a growing family

Cool aqua chairs with rush seats provide a wonderful complement to the existing hardwood floors with their warm tones. The exquisite light fixture defines the space and does double duty as an art piece. New tableware is fun, bright and family friendly.

Dramatic navy walls are particularly romantic for night time dinner parties. The stunning chandelier, by Arhaus, sets the tone for this decidedly grown-up space. Dining chairs, upholstered in Perennial Navy are from RH.

The trumeau mirror is vintage. A large scale, floral, canvas-wrapped print gives the room a modern vibe and provides interest.
